Asia Community Development Organization (ACDO) is a well-known Afghan non-political, non-governmental, and non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to helping vulnerable, at-risk, and underserved individuals and communities throughout Afghanistan. Established in 2014, ACDO operates with the mission of providing humanitarian relief, development initiatives, and resilience activities that strengthen individuals and families faced with poverty, conflict, and natural disasters.

What We Do

ACDO works in various sectors to create lasting change and build stronger communities. Our main areas of activity are:

• Humanitarian Assistance: Providing emergency aid, shelter, and relief to conflict- and disaster-stricken communities.
• Education: Expanding access to quality education, particularly for children in hard-to-reach and disadvantaged communities.
• Health: Improving health care, maternal and child care, and public health education.
• Food Security & Livelihood: Strengthening families through farm work, vocational training, and small business development.
• Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH): Ensuring access to safe water and improving hygiene practices to prevent diseases.

ACDO’s Growth and Impact

Since its inception, ACDO has branched out pretty far:

• Established 15 provincial and regional offices across Afghanistan.
• Built a reputation for being transparent, accountable, and participatory.
• Received $5.1 million in funding from leading international donors such as UNICEF, UNESCO, AHF, UNDP, AKF, and CWW.
• Cultivated a diversified and dedicated team with 39.17% of the staff comprising female workers.
