Job Description

As technology advances, information systems and technology are essential to business success. Systems administrators are often on staff to ensure all systems have secure connections and perform smoothly to serve the needs of its employees. These technical experts perform day-to-day maintenance, monitoring, and repairs, including software and computer installations and upgrades, routine automation, security maintenance, troubleshooting, training, and technical support for all users and projects of the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities

Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Provide 24/7 support and work as On-Call support service to internal and external customers.
  • Deliver 1st and 2nd line technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Escalate technical issues to 3rd parties and work with them to resolve issues promptly to avoid service outages.

System Administration:

  • Act as a member of the Windows Active Directory Domain Administrator Support Team, providing timely and efficient support for assigned operations.
  • Support and administer on-premises Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and Office 365 platforms.
  • Administer Intune for device management and endpoint security.
  • Implement, install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing and new operating systems.

Virtualization and Infrastructure Management:

  • Manage, administer, and maintain ESXi and Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
  • Monitor server performance and ensure high availability of infrastructure components.
  • Conduct regular server inventory management, ensuring security compliance and updates.

File Server and Data Management:

  • Maintain file server environments, including shared and home drives.
  • Configure and troubleshoot access rights for all shared drives and OneDrive.
  • Monitor the capacity and performance of file servers daily.

Monitoring and Security:

  • Monitor systems using PRTG or other monitoring tools to ensure consistent server uptime and connectivity.
  • Manage WSUS/SCCM servers to ensure scheduled updates for domain network computers.
  • Perform malware monitoring and remediation for servers and endpoints.
  • Provide escalation management and technical solutions for viruses and other security incidents.

Backup and Disaster Recovery:

  • Manage and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions for all Windows servers using native tools and third-party solutions.
  • Ensure regular testing and validation of disaster recovery plans.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Record and maintain accurate incident, change, and monitoring logs.
  • Conduct regular surveys of data center operations and address appearance and functional issues.

End-User Support:

  • Provide technical assistance and resolve issues for all operating systems.
  • Offer training and support to end-users as needed.

Job Requirements

NUMBER OF DIRECT REPORTS AND THEIR POSITIONS:

Senior Manager, Data Center Operations

FREQUENT INTERACTIONS WITH:

  • Internal Stakeholders: Finance, procurement, security, legal, network teams
  • External Stakeholders: Microsoft, SentinelOne, DigiCert, and other vendors

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), or Computer Science (CS), with an educational focus combining technical, problem-solving, and management skills.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in IT services and systems management, including hardware and software.
  • Hands-on experience with data center operations, including network management, Exchange Server, Domain Controllers, File Servers, Threat Management Gateway, and virtualization platforms.
  • Familiarity and hands-on experience with Azure and Office 365 and Intune are a plus.

TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred certifications:
  • MCSE / MCITP / Office 365 / Microsoft Azure
  • MCTS
  • CCNA
