CONTRACT DURATIONÂ : 1 year
CONTEXT:Â The Senior Driver position is intended to support the operations of the World Food Programme (WFP) in Burkina Faso. The incumbent will be responsible for the transportation of senior WFP officials, United Nations staff, and official visitors. This role is essential in offices where multiple drivers are stationed and where transport missions are numerous and complex.
OBJECTIVES:Â To ensure safe, professional and efficient transportation for WFP senior officials and visitors, while coordinating services related to the vehicle fleet.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-EXHAUSTIVE)
1. Provide transport for senior WFP officials, senior United Nations officials or visitors, and may translate simple exchanges with local language speakers.
2. Maintain careful and professional conduct in all circumstances.
3. Keep the assigned vehicle(s) clean and in working order at all times, as well as fuel consumption reports.
4. Assist in planning preventive and corrective maintenance in coordination with the Fleet.
5. Receiving official personnel and visitors at the airport or other points of entry and providing them with basic assistance to help them complete the usual visa and customs formalities so that they can reach authorized destinations safely and smoothly.
6. Maintain the vehicle maintenance logbook rigorously and provide the line manager with a daily report on their mechanical condition, in order to ensure efficient vehicle use and fuel consumption in support of accurate accounting and cost-effectiveness.
7. Comply with applicable rules and regulations regarding field deliveries and accidents, and immediately report any problems to the line manager to request instructions and facilitate informed decisions on how to proceed.
9. Perform simple related administrative tasks (e.g., filing, photocopying, or archiving) as necessary, including mailing and paying telephone or other bills, to provide administrative support.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education :
- Hold a BAC.
- Have a valid driving license (categories A1, B, C)
- Holding a category D license is an asset
Experience:
- Have at least 3 years of experience as a professional driver, including 2 years in an international or humanitarian organization.
Additional Skills:
- Excellent driving skills in light and heavy vehicles, including armored vehicles in difficult conditions (unpaved roads, remote areas, crisis situations, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of automotive mechanics.
- Proficiency in fleet tracking tools (Radio, GPS, fuel management applications).
- Good knowledge of the highway code and road safety rules.
LANGUAGES :
- Fluency in French and some local languages ​​would be an asset
