Duties & Responsibilities

• The Media and Communication Officer will be responsible for producing articles, case studies, human interest stories, photos, and videos in line with the local strategy and budget.

• He/she will help identify the most effective communication tools and adapt or translate communication materials for targeted local audiences.

• Where relevant, and in close coordination with the Media and Communication team, the Officer will actively promote content in local languages and through local media channels.

• Support the creation and implementation of an integrated and innovative communication strategy that reflects Islamic Relief Afghanistan’s evolving goals.

• Document results and best practices, including compiling stories of change, and developing presentations and other communication materials.

• Publish articles to increase the visibility of projects and their outcomes and disseminate communication products as outlined in the IR Communication Plan.

• Perform any other tasks related to communications as assigned by the Media and Communication team.

Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s in journalism, social science

Experience:

• Minimum 2-3 years’ work experience in Media and Communication.

• Strong Command on English, Pashto/Dari

• Working experience in the targeted provinces and familiar with concerned community, geography and culture.
