Job Description
Mission and objectives
UNDP works in more than 170 countries and territories. It is one of the leading multilateral development agencies contributing to the eradication of poverty and the reduction of inequality and exclusion. It supports national processes to accelerate progress in human development. Its main areas of intervention are focused on: – Inclusive growth and sustainable development – Participatory governance and social cohesion – Environmental resilience and disaster risk reduction, and – Human capital development In Chad, UNDP works to improve inclusive growth, governance, environmental sustainability and human capital, addressing inequalities and building resilience to natural disasters and prolonged humanitarian vulnerabilities. The program is based on the idea that strong and credible governance institutions capable of managing development and conflict are the foundation for solid and inclusive economic progress, and that growth cannot be sustained without economic diversification and appropriate management of natural resources, including through extractive industries.
Context
The documents to be reviewed and improved will allow for a structured analysis of environmental risks related to the context (Eastern Chad) of project implementation. They include specific indications on the environmental and social impact of the project’s interventions, which impact. Anticipating this impact and implementing mitigation measures will help project management and partners to reduce the impact reflected in the documents under review. As for the Pest Control Plan, it takes stock of the threats that potential pests represent for agricultural activities in the eastern region of Chad and in the specific areas where the project supports
Task Description
We are looking for 8 online volunteers to help us proofread study reports for a stabilization project in French. The online volunteer’s responsibilities will be: – Proofread documents, edit and improve them if necessary; – Ensure that revisions respect the original ideas of the documents and that the documents adhere to UN system and AfDB guidelines on socio-environmental standards, branding and are suitable for external audiences.
Required experience
Strong writing skills, including grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc.; Strong skills in environmental issues and a good ability to improve the flow and clarity of documents, including reports, fact sheets, etc.; Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines; Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clarify expectations and
