Job Description
UNICEF works in more than 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, defend their rights and help them reach their potential, from early childhood to adolescence.
At UNICEF, we are committed, passionate, and proud of what we do as long as we are needed. Promoting the rights of every child is not just a job, it’s a calling.
UNICEF is a place where careers are built: we offer our staff a variety of professional and personal development opportunities that will help them strengthen their sense of duty while serving children and communities around the world. We welcome all those who wish to integrate and thrive in a diverse and passionate culture, combined with attractive pay and benefits.

Every child deserves a hero!
UNICEF’s fundamental mission is to promote the rights of every child, everywhere in the world, in all of the organization’s activities, whether programs, advocacy, or operations. The equity strategy, which focuses on the most disadvantaged and excluded children and families, translates this commitment to children’s rights into concrete actions. For UNICEF, equity means that all children have the opportunity to survive, thrive, and reach their full potential, without discrimination, prejudice, or favoritism. To the extent that a child has unequal opportunities in life—whether social, political, economic, civic, or cultural—their rights are violated. It is increasingly clear that investing in the health, education, and protection of the most disadvantaged citizens of a society—that is, combating inequality—will not only enable all children to reach their potential but will also ensure sustainable growth and stability for countries. This is why it is so important to emphasize equity. This accelerates progress towards the realization of the human rights of all children, which is UNICEF’s universal mission as defined by the Convention on the Rights of the Child, while supporting the equitable development of nations.
