History

AWCC applied for a telecommunications license from the Ministry of Communications, Information & Technology in 1998, and it is thus the first company to offer cellular services in Afghanistan. The company, which was officially launched in 2002, has contributed significantly to the development of mobile communications. With its 25 years of experience in this industry, AWCC is the leading mobile network operator, and it has a customer base that exceeds 5 million subscribers in all 34 provinces of Afghanistan. This includes individual users, businesses, government entities, and international organizations.

  • World’s first 4G LTE that was brought to Afghanistan was the result of AWCC – This way AWCC was able to make the largest 4G network in the country, which coverage was even more than the combined coverage of all of the operators.
