In partnership with the Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan, AKHS,A is a central organization in facilitating implementation of primary as well as specialized health care services.

Key Responsible Areas in Afghanistan:

• Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS): Implemented in all Badakhshan and Bamyan provinces’ districts in an effort to make accessible health care available to rural communities.
• Essential Package of Hospital Services (EPHS): Operated in two provincial hospitals in Bamyan and Faizabad, offering high-level medical services.
• Community Midwifery Education (CME) Programs: Operating three training schools in Bamyan, Badakhshan, and Baghlan, improving maternal and child health services.
